Customized Red Cottage
“We looked at every floor plan on the web. When we saw the Red Cottage plan we knew it was the one. Beautifully balanced, spacious but modest, great flow, graceful lines, charming accents. Empty-nesters can live entirely on the first level, but there’s a distinct second-floor living space for family or guests. We worked with Brian on custom modifications to the rear of the home, adding a “wall of windows” to take advantage of light and views. Brian is a good listener and was always able to translate our half-formed comments into professional design. Our builder usually insists on clients using “his” designer, but after reviewing Brian’s drawings he was pleasantly surprised with the quality of design, local code compliance and attention to detail in the plans.”
“It’s a beautiful home, we believe a masterpiece design that will be a timeless classic. We’re proud to be owners of a Brian Eicholtz “Red Cottage.””
“We plowed through many books, and looked at numerous sites searching for a house plan that would fit our criteria. One day, we came across Brian’s designs and were immediately enchanted! His designs stood out in functionality, creativity, and “real-life-everyday-livability”. Once we knew that his was the design we were looking for, we contacted him for help on some modifications. This is where a very friendly and professional relationship developed. He listened with an intuitive ear to our requests and then worked diligently to produce an amazing space that will accommodate us, as well as a spacious apartment for my parents. Now that the house is in the final stages of building, we could not be happier with the result! We get comments from everyone, from those who have worked on it to friends that have visited, that is indeed an outstanding, out of the ordinary design. It is an extremely well thought out, beautiful house and we have Brian to thank for his tremendous talent, time, and patience.”

The Independence Bungalow & The Freedom Bungalow (Developer – Realtor)
Build a Bungalow is celebrating its third anniversary with the introduction of two original Bungalow designs with designer Brian Eicholtz. These Bungalows are the first of a series of original Bungalows that will be part of Build a Bungalow’s new “The American Collection” portfolio of Arts & Crafts Homes in the Bungalow, Craftsman and Prairie style traditions.
Build a Bungalow’s original designs all offer floor plans with flexible space and accessibility features for people of all ages and abilities. Our “Designs for Life” are beautiful Bungalows that can change as your circumstances change. Families, for example, may want to have the owner’s bedroom suite on a second floor to be close to children when they are young and have
a guest suite on the first floor. In later years, the first floor guest suite can become the owner’s bedroom suite and visiting adult children and friends can enjoy the second floor guest suite for extended stays.
Build a Bungalow’s “Designs for Life” have wider hallways, stairs, open floor plans, pocket doors, turning radiuses in the Owner’s bathroom and laundry, variable counter heights and
strategically located windows bringing natural light into indoor spaces for better visibility. As you know, life does not stay the same. Five years after building a home, an accident or unexpected illness can change, either temporarily or permanently, how you need to use the spaces in your home. Or, you may have family and friends with special needs and want to make them feel comfortable and welcome in your home. These new original designs by Build a Bungalow and Brian Eicholtz will also have authentic Bungalow color options by Rob Schweitzer, professor of historic architecture, author and guest on HGTV, and hand-crafted Mission-style furniture and custom built-in choices by Josh Miller, just as our other Bungalow designs do.
We have Build a Bungalow lots available for purchase in prime Treasure Lake locations or we can work with you to build a bungalow on a lot you already own. Our Build a Bungalow lots come with: utilities (water, sewage, electric and natural gas) already to the lot, guaranteed titles, property surveys, all Buyer Closing Costs included in the lot price, and our lots are not located in flood or wetland areas. We can introduce you to quality builders and work with you to add Bungalow detailing throughout the building process. There are no time restrictions for building and you can choose your own builder. Minimum square footage requirement is only 800 sq. ft. and review by a Property Committee for approval is required. We have beautiful primary, retirement, or vacation designs starting at $125,000 plus lot. -Elaine Rhodes DuBois, Pennsylvania

The Executive Mountain Cottage
It was a pleasure meeting with you and Heather yesterday and a privilege showing you both our home. Amy and I cannot express enough gratitude regarding your vision and design of our home. We would change nothing with the interior or exterior design which truly is a rarity after building a home not to mention more importantly your attention to detail. We cannot wait until spring to finish the landscape and driveway to complete the vision (see attached).
Again Amy and I cannot “Thank You” enough for your talent, your unique vision and all the extra hours spent to make our house the “home of our dreams”!
We will contact you regarding the date of our builders party and hope that you and Heather can make it.”
